Parish Partnerships in the Dominican Republic

St. Ann's, Old Lyme - Since 1994, in relationship with Diocese of D.R. via scholarships, missionary support and mission teams. Have sent four teams as of 2009, one youth and three intergenerational. Most recently have focused work in San Pedro de Marcoris, where have painted schools and clinics. Have also hosted clergy from the area. In 2009, supported Marc Yves Regis in development of a Vacation BIble School in the bateyes and are planning to have a parallel VBS at St. Ann's in 2010.

Marc Yves Regis, a photojournalist who has traveled to the D.R. with St. Ann's, hopes to start a one-week summer camp in 209 in a batey in the D.R. Church partnerships welcome. Flyer here.

St. Barnabas, Greenwich - Scholarships for children to attend Episcopal schools.
St. Mark's, Bridgewater - Dominican Literacy Project (supports a school that teaches Haitian children who are not allowed to attend Dominican schools or receive health care. Gives financial aid, school supplies and Spanish books to grade-school children).
