Mission Partnerships
The Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut has one formal mission partnership, with Colombia, S.A., and several informal ones. We used to have partnerships with Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, and Puerto Rico as those Dioceses were considering becoming a separate province (they decided against it). Through the Rt. Rev. Andrew D. Smith and others, we have an informal partnership in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Through the Rt. Rev. James E. Curry, and others (starting with St. John's, Essex), we have an information relationship with the Diocese of Lemombo in Mozambique.
Parishes in the Diocese have their own formal, and informal partnerships within Connecticut, elsewhere in the US, or overseas. Check the links to the side to learn more about these partnerships.
A Companions in MIssion Committee works with diocesan partners and with parishes to support and encourage partnerships. See the other links for some info on getting started, and on mission grants.
Use the sub-pages on the left menu under "Mission Partnerships" to see who's doing what in those parts of the Anglican Communion. By organizing the info by country/area instead of by parish, as we'd been doing, we hope it will help people learn from each other and when possible, work together.
New info? Updates? Use the parish info form (under "Contact") to update your information.
